Food Trucks, Fridays, and Festivals OH MY!

If you’re like me, you love a good food truck meal any chance you can get.  Here in LA there are food trucks for just about any meal you could dream of.  My first few years here were spent at my favorite taco truck, Leo’s Tacos, every other week.  It parked near my college on Mondays and we definitely took advantage frequently.  It wasn’t until my Junior year of college that a friend told me about a monthly event in Venice with all the food trucks one could imagine!
This event is called First Fridays and takes place along Abbot Kinney Blvd. every first Friday of the month!  Starting at around 6pm, over fifty food trucks make their way to Venice Beach in Los Angeles for everyone to enjoy.  There is no price to attend and many of the shops along Abbot Kinney stay open, so there is lots of opportunity to walk around and shop before or after you eat. The event runs until around 10pm or whenever the food trucks want to close up shop. My favorite thing is to find  parking, choose a truck, and just walk down the street admiring the murals and stores.  There is plenty of good people watching and cute dogs as well, a major plus.  One final pro is because there are so many options,  you and your friends can all eat different things together.

If you like to switch things up, I recommend trying a truck you’ve never been to; you might just discover a new favorite!
